Course Overview:
This comprehensive 6-day course (40.0 AOA Category 1-A and AMA PRA Category 1CME credit) provides a solid foundation in anatomy and physiology for diagnosing and treating cranial structural issues. Participants will engage in didactic sessions as well as hands-on experiences. This course aims to deepen participants' understanding and practical skills for effective cranial treatment.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
1. Recognize the primary respiratory mechanism and analyze skull anatomy and cranial articulations.
2. Apply palpatory skills and diagnostic methods to cranial mechanics, including the four quadrant diagnosis.
3. Identify dysfunctions within the cranial system and understand facial articular restrictions.
4. Enhance skills in diagnosing and treating temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction and other cranial issues.
5. Utilize craniosacral treatment techniques, including dural membranes, fluid techniques, and articular release.
6. Recognize and apply tissue motion in diagnosing and treating strain patterns in the trunk and extremities.
7. Implement craniosacral treatment for patients with mild to moderate traumatic brain injury.
**Approved by the AOBNMM as part of the 40-hour cranial requirement for residents.**
